This website is maintained by Ron Charest on behalf of the crew of USS Scamp (SSN 588). An earlier iteration of Scamp’s website under a different domain (uss-scamp.com) was maintained by another former Scamp sailor Lou Minor.
Ron served on Scamp from November 1975 to January 1980. She was Ron’s first and only nuclear submarine assignment in his 22-year Navy career. He also served on a diesel-electric submarine, a submarine tender, and commissioning crew of an Aegis cruiser. Of the four sea tours, Scamp was by far his best.
